Martha Reid received two grants from the Education Foundation.
Mr. Minyard received a grant for $4,862. Grant funds will be used to purchase HP Stream 11 Pro G3 Notebook PCs. These will be used to create and implement a Reid Media Fair. Students will use the devices to create a variety of multimedia displays, including text, audio, visual and graphic. The projects will be displayed in a community involvement night where they are showcased to students, parents, staff, district personnel, and the community. Through this project students will communicate, collaborate, create, and think critically which will be the foundation of lifelong skills.
Teachers Leslie Drake, Shea Stapleton, Amanda Schatz, Amie Alsup, Kelley Tittsworth & Lacy Underwood received a grant for $4,825.19. Grant funds will be used to create technology and sensory centers in the library and in classrooms for Pre-K, PLC, kindergarten, first and second grade students. Students at a young age build skills with hands on sensory activities such as sorting, fine moor skills, counting and graphing just to name a few. We will incorporate these activities in the library and classrooms, but with a technological twist. This will help them build lifelong skills and help them be successful with grade level reading and vocabulary skills. The grant was funded by WR Roofing.
Congratulations and thank you to the MISD Education Foundation!
